Anchor Project

Due Drop Events Centre delivers New Zealand’s largest community and schools programme (over 100,000 students each year) and provides a vital place to celebrate and come together as a community. Due Drop Foundation is proud to be the anchor sponsor of this community owned and operated facility.

Tier 1 (current)

Those that receive larger contributions go through a very detailed evaluation process via Impact lab which measures and reports on their return to NZ for each dollar gifted. We take an approach that these charities are at the top of the cliff and provide a total wrap around approach and are not short term interventions; there are no quick fixes.

Kootuitui ki Papakura
Whanaungatanga | Who are we?
Kootuitui means weaving or connecting, and in this way, our strands work together to support whaanau and schools to improve outcomes for tamariki.
Kootuitui ki Papakura has four strands: Education, Health, Whaanau and Financial Wellbeing. Like harakeke, these strands are intrinsically interconnected and interdependent, as illustrated by our logo and our name.
Kootuitui ki Papakura exists to redress the inequity in our community and improve the immediate, mid and lifelong outcomes of young people growing up in South Auckland.

Nurturing Families
Our mission is twofold:
To deliver indispensable aid to families and to provide emotional and educational support, fostering the growth and development of both families and children.
Nurturing Families, a registered not-for-profit charity since 2012, collaborates with front-line social support services to offer comprehensive assistance, helping approximately 6,000 children annually.
We work on a referral basis with over 210 agencies across the Auckland region & beyond, who place orders for resources on behalf of the whānau that they are supporting. Please note – our charity model only accepts requests from community support agencies/professionals, and we do not provide direct assistance to individuals.

Woven Earth
We’re a grassroots charity furnishing homes and supporting the lives of family violence survivors across the Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland region.
Every home is tailored to each family’s unique needs – especially their children – and lovingly furnished with everything needed to restore dignity, nurture stability, and begin again.
1027 Homes furnished – 1986 Children supported – 3109 Lives changed.

Charities that we may wish to support but have not undergone an Impact assessment; we offer them the resource to undergo such an assessment. Once we receive this assessment then we will consider further support; the recipient can also use this report for other funders.

Promoting safe & effective youth mentoring
Through connections, advocacy, training, and research, the NZ Youth Mentoring Network provides support for the youth mentoring sector in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Sweet Louise
Sweet Louise provides practical, emotional and social support and services for New Zealanders living with incurable breast cancer. We provide the compassion and care they need to live as well as possible, for as long as possible.

Wellington Regional Charity Hospital
Critical funding allowing design process to continue
Too many people in our community fall through the cracks, unable to access the public system in time, ineligible for ACC, or uninsured.
The Dorothy Spotswood Charity Hospital will change that.
A not-for-profit day-surgery hospital delivering timely, high-quality elective procedures to people who would otherwise go without.
We serve patients who:
– Face indefinite waits in the public system
– Cannot aﬀord private healthcare
– Are ineligible for ACC cover
– Are experiencing declining quality life due to treatable conditions

Helping people live healthier lives and to set an example for family and friends. Our mission is to reduce the alarming obesity statistics among Maori and Pacific people.

CHB William Pike Challenge Trust
The William Pike Challenge is a national charity that empowers young people to build resilience, leadership, and a love for the outdoors. The CHB William Pike Challenge Trust supports the delivery of this programme in Central Hawke’s Bay, working to remove financial and logistical barriers so that all local Year 7 and 8 students have the opportunity to take part.
Through the programme, students step beyond the classroom and into a wide range of hands-on outdoor experiences, including mountain biking, river crossings, bivouac building, outdoor cooking, a William Pike Discovery Day, a tramp to Sunrise Hut, and an end-of-year camp. Alongside these activities, participants complete community service in an area of their choice and develop a personal passion project.

Normalising Mental Health
It’s just a conversation
At I AM HOPE, our mission is simple yet wide-reaching: to help reshape attitudes towards mental health across Aotearoa and to give every young person the confidence to speak up. Too many of our rangatahi wrestle with harsh self-talk and runaway thoughts that leave them feeling isolated.
When young people realise these thoughts are universal, they’re more willing to seek help. We show them they’re not alone and connect them with support.

The Homes of Hope team are passionate about delivering the very best foster care services within a strong community. We prevent brothers and sisters from being separated and ensure stability of care for as long as it is needed.

The team at Te Ora Hou are working with youth to re-connect them into sustainable whole communities.

Counties Manukau Sport Foundation
Is a community organisation established to help improve the quality of sport and physical activity for all people in the Counties Manukau region.
This is achieved by working alongside a variety of sport and physical activity groups that are resident in Mangere-Otahuhu, Otara-Papateotoe, Manurewa, Papakura, Howick and Franklin.
Their work includes supporting regional organisations, clubs, community groups, schools, groups involved in health, Marae, Maori groups, groups for people with a disability, territorial local authorities, and the local business community.

Tier 3

Smaller Charities and individuals (scholarships) that have the capability to expand and learn but not the capacity funding wise; evaluation is a desk top exercise consisting of; evaluating financial accounts and deliverables, interviewing stakeholders and beneficiaries.

The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Programme
A Three-Year Programme
• The Concept: First launched in the US in 1997, the programme operates on the philosophy that society is strengthened by making higher education accessible to all, including those in the corrections system.
• The Format: Campus students and incarcerated students take university-level courses together, often inside a correctional facility.
• Otago’s Pilot: The University of Otago runs a pilot of this programme at the Otago Corrections Facility (OCF), spearheaded by researchers like Dr. Fairleigh Gilmour. It is supported by funding from the Due Drop Foundation.
• The Goal: It aims to reduce the stigma around offenders, foster critical thinking for campus students, and ease the reintegration of incarcerated individuals into society upon release.

The Guardian Angel Trust
The Guardian Angels Trust was set up to help minimise some of the financial stressors so that families can focus on supporting their sick child to live as fully as possible for as long as possible. To that extent a commitment was made by the Trustees to raise money that would be given directly to families through practical means such as the provision of supermarket vouchers, help with household bills and incidentals that would directly benefit the wellbeing of the child and family.
